Glad to hear that we all agree to press on.
Going to the garage to disassemble a scrap bike with my kids. Ahh! Qaulity time with the kids. Hope they will grow up to be motorheads like the rest of us.

        not a big deal

like somebody said - it will just give us more to talk about.

even if they can't do a restore - other than a minor (temporary) inconvenience i don't think it will have much impact on the site.

All the electronic data may be waylayed, but the actual experience and knowledge can never be lost - it's in our heads!
Spread all over the planet! How great is that? Take that and stick it, hackers!

            Hacker

If they haven't already I suggest that JP or the moderators go in and change the pass words before the ass-h_le wakes up bored and tries to come back in and see what other damage he can do.

Please don't call them hackers, it only insults the true hacker culture. Hackers *are* the good guys. We try to protect you from the crackers. The media created a new definition for hacker, made it mainstream, and it stuck. Very much like what Hollywood did for bikers and their image.

What happened here is the work of a cracker, the second lowest life-form on the planet. Script kiddies are the lowest life form.

True hackers would never think of damaging data, they create rather than destroy.

                  Yep... true.
BTW: didn't anybody even think of a possibility that it could be a suzuki fanatic out there to get us?
Dunno bout the back-ups, but I hope they're there. If not, we'll have more to write about.

Crackers use programs that they write/modify/steal to attack other computers. For simplicity and speed, these programs often run a script that runs the attacks and probes faster than a human could. This takes a fair understanding about how things work, making crackers fairly intelligent but misguided.

Script kiddies know little if any, about how these tools were created. Most of them don't want to understand any of this. Their main aim is to cause destruction for bragging rights. They just beg borrow or steal these tools and blindly run them as scripts, waiting for a confirmation that it has compromised a machine for them.

Comparing the two is a lot like comparing a well trained sniper to a drive-by shooting. Both have the same end result, but their methods and reasoning are worlds apart.

The title pretty much says it all. Who in there right mind would hack into a web site that has nothing to do with them ( unless they're XSivelly disturbed) with nothing better to do with their time but wreak havoc on us working people that like to ride motorcycles, get info on stuff that wrong with our bikes, share info on stuff that we've done to our bike, and meet every now and agian. I'll bet this s.o.b. ain't got the nuts to come to my front door and say to my face what was sent to my Email. ( just to let everyone know what was said was F--Ck You America.) I was in the military and sworen to defend our flag, our fredoms, and our way of life, If you don't like it here or anywhere that we occupy then uyou need to get the F--k out or come and see me. If you really want to meet alla mohamad what ever ther/his name is. Oh and by the way you can see my ass riding down the hyway on a black 79 xs11sf with the U.S.A.flag proudly flying behind me. Also my vest has a patch of the flag try burnin it punk I better stop now cauz I'm very very pist at this sob
