To fix the problem one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.

Thanks guys. I spent most of the day changing spark plugs in my '05 F150's 5.4L Trident V-8. A real PITA but it needed to be done. Did not break any plugs, a common problem this engine. Had a misfire on plug 6, found the plugs look to be factory OEM Motocraft with over 168K on them. Once again my $20.00 code reader came into play and more than paid for itself.

Heck of a way to spend a birthday...

TRITON Ford engines suck for changing the plugs but the one that the plugs always break in are the later 3 valve 4.6 - 5.4. 2010 and later modular v-8s. The earlier ones like your just have a bad habit of spitting plugs out because they don't have enough thread in the head. Easy fix if you have the right tool though.

Still, not a very good birthday present.

                    Happy birthday Jerry.
