The bars are 7/8" not 1" like Harleys. You can find them at a variety of places. I swapped mine out for early model Honda GW bars, have similar pullback/rise, but the wrist angles are more flat so don't bend your wrists awkwardly.

See this for an idea, note the rise/pullback/width specs.

Thanks, T.C. Those look good. Have you got a pic of them on your bike? Do you know the specs on our stock bars?

      Hi TruthHammer,
      eek indeed!
You took your life in your hands riding home on 13 year old rubber.
Lucky that you were riding carefully and that the roads were dry.
New #1 on the to-do list; get new tires installed. Check the new
tires' build date before you pay for them. A minority of bargain
tire sellers ain't too fussy about how old their new tires are.
I reckon that more than 4 years old may be a bit dodgy for
      a solo XS11.

Or, as your dreaded PO has done, the glass tube fuseblock can be replaced by a whole bunch of el-cheapo individual fuses from Bargain Harold Auto.
If it's wired up properly it might even work.
Although the el-cheapo wiring crimps that are usually associated with that methodology are only good for a maximum of 70% efficiency.

              Hi TC,
best that he didn't, he might have been tempted to buy one of those ergonomic disasters.
Gawd! It's wicked, the way the stylists tried to cripple innocent riders by specifying those accursedly stupid rototiller 'bars.

I've been looking forward to learning about and working on all of the mechanical aspects of the bike. But I admit I'm a little intimidated by the electronics... I'm not sure where to start with this mess.

For the short term, you may find the bars more comfortable if you push them down some. Mine almost touch the tank. I would hate them where you have them, too.

I like the buckhorn bars on my 4 Specials.

Like Marty, I like them adjusted low. In that position my wrists are in a natural position.
