A bit off-topic...
I bought a wood chipper that is powered by a Kohler Command Pro 25hp engine. The engine had not run for some time and when I tried to start it the engine flooded, stuck float valve. When I removed the top plate a small o-ring on the top of the low speed jet disintegrated. While I can get the ring as part of a $65.00 over haul kit I would like to see if anyone knows where I might get just the o-ring.

ID is in the area of 1/8 inch but a 1/8 by 1/4 ring has to large of an OD.

Here is an exploded view of the carb from the engine service manual:

Item I need (could use a pair) is the o-ring at the top and bottom of part D. I could also use a part B which is not included in a rebuild kit. The choke linkage attaches to this piece and is plastic; mine is broken so the choke does not function.

If anyone knows where I might be able to buy individual Keihin parts please let me know. I would appreciate it!

Okay, it's metric and you're up in the Rockies....

1/8" x 1/4" (3 mm x 6 mm) is too large so guestimating you can use a 3 mm x 5mm. You can probably buy a small range of different ID/OD o-rings to find the two that you need.

The O-Ring Store is pretty good, I used them for some of those micro-Mikuni o-rings without buying a minimum package of 1500.

Also, Harbor Freight sells a viton o-ring assortment. Not always the perfect match, but in many cases works fine. Then I use a specific source like 3Phase shared if needed.

The next trip down the mountain would be good to go but at less than $0.40/o-ring from the 'net, the fuel cost for a trip to HF would be ludicrous.

Jerry and wife make regular trips the 30min. to here(Clifton) from Debeque to grocery shop,etc., and he knows where HF lives here in Clifton. Sounds like an excellent reason for him to jump on that Concours with the 70+ temps here.

I finally broke down and ordered two kits, one for the choke and one for the carb. Price for the pair came to about $75.00 with shipping. Did not like to do it but due to time constraints I wanted the OEM parts on hand if I need to resort to using them. Kits should arrive this week.

Keihin used a "self-relieving choke" in this application. The choke rod (linkage) slips into a plastic fitting that is attached to the end of the choke plate shaft. Mine is broken and the choke was not working. The choke kit contains this part.

The O-rings from The O-Ring Store have not arrived yet; I was able to order two each 3mm x 5mm and 3mm x 6mm and will see if those fit after they arrive. Should be here in a couple of days. Material is Buna-N so they should hold up OK in a carb application. If they work I'll order spares of the right size just to have on hand. I am hoping the 3mm x 5mm proves to be serviceable.

Checked out the HF selection but the smallest size is the same 1/8 x 1/4 as NAPA and other auto parts and hardware outlets. ID is OK but OD is to large for the bore they are supposed to fit.

Motoman is correct; I live in the boonies and generally travel the 32 miles or so for grocery shopping and parts buying in the Grand Junction area. In this particular case there is not a shop that stocks Kohler Command Pro (Keihin) carb parts (or any other Kohler parts!) so I've ben working the on-line shops. Some eBay merchants have had the best on-line prices.

My goal is to have the chipper ready to go by late April as our high-country lot should be accessible by then. While we have been cleaning up the dead and down trees for the last couple years the pace has been slow as we have to haul the non-salvageable wood over to a burn pit. The pit is only open on Saturdays (9 - 5) if volunteers can be found. The trip takes nearly an hour not including the unloading time. 4 loads is a good day. I figure having a chipper on-site will speed up the process by a good 50%.

Ouch... pond water; thin straw and all that.

You'll eventually make up the cost of the carburetor kits in fuel cost and vehicle wear by not making so many trips off site but that's still pretty steep.
