Maybe a smaller carbon fiber brush guard/cow catcher on the XS11 can keep the deer off you and the freezer stocked?

Well.....guess the forest rats around here needed some training from ya', as the two that were already on my Honda ST1100 did not even phase them.

When it goes for a period of time without rain the fumes from gas and diesel settle on the grass near the major roads. Some deer especially those who are weekend by wasting disease seem to like this grass. Drive long enough and you will see they get to the point they either are high or ignore vehicles. They will look right at you even in the daylight and walk right in front of you. Getting that time of season around here so if on a road where the grass has not been cut you better look for them because they will not look for you. If they are in a flat out run they will not stop for nothing.

So whistles are optional but do work at times on slow back roads.
To fix the problem one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.

I've always though that the deer whistles work, but they work the same way as bear bells and pepper spray.
