What is your router firmware version?

I have no idea what that is let alone how to find out.

It is a common problem with the Qualcomm Atheros wifi devices. I had the same problem when I upgraded to windows 10. I Ended up buying a new wireless device. Some people claim it is being caused by the bluetooth, which I tend to believe. Windows 10 claimed my laptop has no bluetooth device, which it does.
Bluetooth uses the network deivce to transmit it's signal. Here is a forum page with other people having the same problem.

This laptop wouldn't let me upgrade to 10, still running 7.

You would have to log on to the router via a browser on a PC.
They would be a status page somewhere.

Refer to the router documentation for help with logging in.

This router belongs to the company and was installed and set up by upper management. I have no documentation.

Sounds like upper management has a network problem affecting productivity.
Whomever set it up needs to troubleshoot this.

Is the router hooked directly to a DESKTOP computer, or is it just connected to the Internet Modem? There are 2 ways to set up the router, plugging the Cat5/Ethernet cable directly into a desktop/laptop puter and then use the browser to go to the ADMIN address for the router.......OR they accessed it Wirelessly to access the ADMIN part of the router.

I've got a Linksys AC router, I accessed it via the ethernet direct method.

I can't recall the exact steps now, but with direct cable access, the address is like 192.168.1.1 or such. Then you have to have the ADMIN username and Pswd to access the ADMIN part. There are DEFAULT settings that are used when they first ship. As you showed on the photos, they set up a wireless password/key to be able to start using it right out of the box. Does that password match what you have put into that laptop to access the router? IF so, then "THEY" may have left it with the default settings, including the ADMIN acct. and password.

You can do a search for that Router model and default admin/password info, and how to access the ADMIN part via wireless, and then you could use your own laptop to access the ADMIN to see how many DHCP devices are programmed to be allowed to access the router.

Or as was mentioned, the Atheros wireless adapters have been problematic, and that you might want to see about getting and trying another brand of wireless adapter, but you may need to check with ASUS to see what other brands/styles of wireless adapters you can use. JAT.

As I said, I tried using a USB external adapter as Harry suggested and it made no difference.

I'll screenshot the network map when I get back to the shop in the morning.

I think TC was trying to help you access/log into the router.
Your diagram is *interesting* but not helpful in this scenario as I understand it.

Regarding the diagram...
There are too many switches and hubs (which are bad) on your diagram. The other amusing thing is there is no representation of the router.

I think a resolution to your problem will require access to the router's configuration and administrative tools.

Gonna try changing the wireless adapter in the laptop. Both laptops that are experiencing this issue have the exact same adapters in them.

I just got threw resolving an issue for my cousins wife. She was in a hurry and upgraded her PC to 10 at a local shop 2 weeks ago. It is a dell about a year and a half old. It immediately came home and had poor performance on internet and would intermittently loose connection and you could power down PC and Router and rejoin the network on the wireless connection and it would work. There were 2 other PC's that connected fine to router wireless no issues and if the same PC was hooked to the same router on Ethernet port worked fine. Monday it quit connecting all together and the shop could not find a problem. Upon arrival my PC connected fine could not get it to fail.

I finally determined today there is now a conflict between the updated driver between Windows 10 uses for establishment of the handshake of IP assignment and the router bios. It would not bee seen even at the mac layer address by the router and would recognize the mac layer if you manually assigned the IP.

Now a shop that works on nothing but PC's could not find this so do not feel inadequate if it bites you but updates in windows 10 can create issues like this. Put a new router on works fine but Just one PC and just the wireless connection at the hardware level. I shutter to think of what's coming with new upgrades.

I have windows 7 on this computer Ron. It would not upgrade for some reason.
