Thanks for the Boldface, 3phase. I'm askeert I may have a problem in there....I did have resistance. Couldnt overcome it. That's why I popped the starter.

I false alarmed on the clearance check/shim change, and really dont know when i will actually be able to get in there. Now I guess I'm looking for a bent valve. joy.

Yeah it's a pretty blue, but just because you're old is no excuse to buy a bagger. Fortunately I have wrenches.

Welcome to the Bent Valve Club! Replacing valves isn't difficult, just annoying.

We don't have meetings but do commiserate as needed: you have my heartfelt commiserations.

        BVC meeting

Hi, My name is T.C., and I haven't been on a "BENDER" for 17 years. I keep my bent valve on the workbench to remind me not to get bent ever again! :P

I'm thinking of some responses. They are in poor taste.

OKAY VICTIMS. Back at it. My employer has decided he can no longer afford to keep me around, no more cars than he's selling. As such, I removed myself from my place of employment. After about a month of searching, I found a trailer to haul dora home. Shes b een living in the dealership body shop parts overflow shed during the work chronicled here. Fortunately my unemployment days do not (hopefully) coincide with high cost restoration work. I think I'm looking at setting valve clearances, maybe replacing a bent valve (go bent valve club) and hopefully no further diagnoses.
