Back in '81 I put the loop brace on,think that is all there was.I don't go fast so it is not a concern to me.My riding skills are soo bad now I will never test it.
The only down side to the loop type brace is how well they work. If you put the front tires between your legs, grab the bars and turn you can see the tube type brace flex. The T-Kat brace does NOT flex under the same test. Just saying.. And yes, I've had both types.
Unless the hoop brace is fitted perfectly, it will add stiction to the forks. The HHB brace I pictured isn't as likely to flex as it's heavy. That means added unsprung weight. Unsprung weight goes in the negative column.
The TKAT or Tarozzi braces are the best option we have, the later being cast probably makes it second best.
