    Emblems

I have previously purchased tank side emblems from KZ900 for the Standard, Venturer, and Special. Did they stop offering these? May want to double check their sight.

I thought the special and the standard emblems were slightly different sizes. They show an emblem for XS1100 that says they're for specials - 147mm.
I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.

'79 XS11 Standard, Jardine 4/1, Dyna DC1-1 Coils, 145 mains, 45 pilots, plastic floats - 25.7mm, XV920 fuel valves, inline fuel filters, speed bleeders, Mikes XS pods, spade-type fuse block, fork brace, progressive fork springs/shocks, manual petcocks, 750 FD, Venture cam chain tensioner, SS brake lines

        Hi, Doug and Mike -

KZ900 also lists a tank emblem for the '82 XJ11 at 138mm ... but there isn't an emblem listed specifically for the Standards.

          Australia

All the badges/emblems mentioned as coming from Australia are indeed coming from the same place:

          BadgeReplicas

This is the same company listed in Bob's "Maxim Badges" thread (see post #15).

To get mine to bow I wrapped them so they could not be scratched and used soft wood shims in a large vice I looked at where they needed to bend and would put a shim in and slightly bend around it. It takes time and never go to far at one time as if you have to bend the other way and then back you might stress the metal. It really does not take much to get a good fit. Now if you think you can bend them by hand more power to you. If you do not have a vice you may be able to wrap and put a shim under it and push with both hands to form but you have little control when you use that much force.

Mine were a little tight in the holes till I formed them and then they hit the holes dead center and had a little jiggle.
To fix the problem one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.

So it took about two weeks to get 'em? I'm looking at the guys YS27s for my side covers as mine look like pooooop. I'd love to get 'em before XSSE (9/25) but that may be pushing it a little?

I think they quote 9-21 days from KZ900.com, but I got 'em in about two weeks. Dunno if you'd get them any faster ordering them directly from the guy in Australia.

If you want to have nice emblems by 9/25, you could always refinish the ones you've got. That'll only take you a few days - Quick, cheap, easy badge refinishing

Here's a pic of one I refinished several years ago next to an un-refinished badge -

Camera focus was not too good but they're shinny even with the dust on them.
