Cassie
:
Hello, this is Cassie. How may I help you?
Mac
:
Kuryakyn Iso-Grips 6341 vs. 6241. What is the difference? Please & thank you.
Cassie
:
6241 is chrome 6341 is black
Mac
:
Looking for a good black Iso Grip for 7/8" bars. Are the black one's all the same diameter?
Cassie
:
6340 is black 1''
Cassie
:
6341 is black 7/8''
Mac
:
The difference between the 6341 and 6344?
Cassie
:
If you look at the fitments you will see 6344 is for sport bikes
Cassie
:
6341 is for Honda, Cam-Am, Yamaha
Mac
:
I meant grip diameter. And, how would it matter if it was sport or street? 7/8" bar is 7/8", whether street or sport. Right?
Cassie
:
Some of the grips are bike spacific, if you need a universal grip you need to get a universal grip, the grips called out for sport bikes are only meant to fit sport bikes due to their throttle sleeves.
Cassie
:
So you need to go off of the fitments for the grips
Mac
:
Gotcha. Okay, thank you very much for you help!1979 XS1100F

I used rubber cement. Not sure if it came with grips or bought separately.

I love these grips, they are very comfortable and help with the vibrations. I got the "throttle boss" attachment as well, that is well worth the extra $20 bucks on a long trip.

looks like they sell bar end weights that will screw into these as well, but i have not tried them.
Oh, and i just used hairspray and slid them one. had hopes that if I ever need to remove them I could get them of without damaging them. As far as i know they DO NOT sell replacement rubber parts for these. You have to buy a complete set of grips if you tear that rubber up.Harry

Ian, you need the universal fit for 7/8 inch bars. Even then you will need to modify things a wee bit to make it all work.
You will need to sand or file off the factory ridges under the hand grip on the XS11 throttle to make it smooth enough to mount the new grips.
For the left side you will need a couple of wraps of electrical tape, just to close the gap and then you can install the new grips.
The glue they supply is both unforgiving and fast! So when you are using it, do not stop moving it until it is in the position you want or it will stay where ever you stop. Cost me a set of grips to discover that. I have not tried the other alternatives like hairspray so do not know what that may do.
Another thing is the grips are longer inside than our stock ones.... forget how much... but is room enough to put about 5 washers in the end of the grip which adds bar end weight. That is a good thing for sure.
All of my riders have them on the bars and I love every ride I take with them. Do they solve every issue...nope. But are they worth it in comfort... Heck Yeah.2-79 XS1100 SF

I didn't have a problem with those ridges, it went right on with the little bit of lube the hairspray gives you. The left one will move just a bit if i twist it hard but it isn't loose enough to worry about. i figure at least it will come off if I need it to without destroying it.Harry

I also did not have to do anything about the ridges. Mine went right one without any mods.Nathan
