Phil I have had Picasa on this computer since 2007...its an old one running Windows Vista Home Premium...Picasa that I have had has never functioned in the manner you describe...I have always used it as a gallery backup and go to PB for hosting the pics to post here...I had been using IE9 as my browser but that was out of date and now I am using Opera. This browser's features are different than IE9 so the way to do things isnt quite the same.. or it could be a function of operating softwares...

I have a Gmail account but 6 or 7 years ago my password became ineffective for reasons I can not fathom. I just went to another provider and have been happy since.

Ben all my hosted pics are in Picasa. The problem is I can only post them via computer. On phone browser there is a different interface. Maybe you are getting an alternate interface. If it redirects you to Google+ photos you also cannot get the right click options.

John I am not signed in to google so it isnt redirecting me...its simply a case of missing url's and img codes....all the properties are of the camera and the picture itself but no codes to copy and paste...this isnt an issue for me I use PB without any issues...Perhaps yours and Phil's version of Picasa is newer and has those features the older version does not???

                online actions

Ok i went back to Picasa and signed into Google...then I selected a pic and right clicked with the mouse...now theres a different option that isnt there if you do not sign into google...after right click on pic...then select "online actions" then selected copy url...which I have done here but it only gives me a link to the pic and not the pic itself without clicking on the link...

additionally I have found that each photo folder in Picasa has this little button in the lower right corner that say synch with the web...unless I synch the folder it will not display "online options" when I right click on a particular pic.
In summary...one must be signed into Google...theres a button right in Picasa...secondly one must web synch their folders...then the right click and choose online options to copy url...Still i cant figure out how to make the pic appear...just the link(which works)...so in essesnce I think I have it...just gotta play with it...I never knew Picasa could do this..
Sorry JE this dont bode well for you...LOL...but try what I did and see...

so once you have signed into google and have web synched the pics in your folder(s)
                      right click on the pic
                      click on online actions
                      choose view online
Once the pic you have chosen to view online comes up
                      click on Copy Image Address

Now navigate your way back to XS11.com...and in the reply box for your message...you will see a number of Icons ...find the Icon that shows Mountains and click on it....you will see a box that has the http// you want to erase this by using the cursor and backsspace button...once it is gone then right click mouse and paste the img code inside the box...hit submit and it should work...
A key thing is to be signed into Google and have your folder synched...otherwise theres no option to view it online...so if nothing else at least i learned something today...Good luck JE...

Nice Ben, you got it to work. My Picasa interface must be different as John had mentioned, much different process for mine.

                            Hey Ben and Phil,

That's nice, but I think JE posted that he LOST his Google signon years ago??

SO..JE, I would suggest Photobucket instead. I have used it for several years, had been using PhotoDump until it took a dump! I'm not as paranoid as Scott/3Phase with regards to the autocreation of photo tags for photos that I put up there that might not have tags on them. YMMV

                              Gotta ride

I've been reading all the chatter and I must say, my head is swimming. I will go back to photobucket and try there again but I am going to ride down to the Jacksonville, Florida area for a few days first.
Thanks to everyone who has helped out, the response is gratifying.
