Well, that now bid of $650 is just a 'bump' over of HALF what a replacement set was new back in the day.

A new exhaust was $1200 when these bikes were new?

          Special Exhaust eBay

This could be setting a new precedence on original exhaust values?

            Supply & Demand

It is truly a sellers market when it comes to OE exhaust systems for our bikes. A little over a year ago a set sold for more than $1100 on ebay. If you look in the current listings there is a set going for $300 and only one side is good. It's sad to think that the most valuable oe parts on an XS11 are the exhaust, seats and side covers.

Just think of all of the perfectly good OEM sets that were removed to be replaced by the "better" aftermarket sets. Where did all of those get to?

                exhaust

hello, currently have three exhaust systems for the xs1100 series. Chrome kerker 4-1 system complete decent and functional $90, four stock chrome header pipes cutoff before crossover no rear cans $40, four chrome stock header pipes with aftermarket rear cans, pitted, scratched, dented, etc, but not leaking or rusted out $60. These are pickup at shop door price, ship extra, for the bargain xs11 shoppers.... send me a pm with a location if ya want a shipping price. thanx andreas

                  Doesn't surprise me

I'd pay $650 if I had a nice project and I needed (wanted) them.

                    Someone decided

that spending their money on them was worth the value.

Most of the sets I've seen go through E-Bay have been beaten and rusty, those were relatively clean and it looked like he put some time into polishing them judging the look of the head pipes and how bright the mufflers were.

Would I have paid that much?

I suppose if I wanted the original look with a relatively decent used exhaust system I would have stomped it with a bid guaranteed to make sure I had the winning bid, price be damned.

If I ever sell my bike, won't happen,I would get a lot more in parts than selling it as a good street bike.I have the original exhaust, side covers.

                        The value of my bike

If I sold my bike I probably wouldn't get out of it what I have in it.

The only way I can get out of it what I have in it....is to enjoy it that much!
