Yeah, this year's not even remotely possible for me but I know Motoman would have a blast -- go for it!

I do plan to trying another run back East next year with no last minute harebrained kludges.

What..........no major engine overhaul a week before a couple thousand mile ADVENTURE ride to a rally?.......your losin' your touch 3Phase .
Likely not this year either.....post#47 has the jest of it .
Lookin better for next year too........maybe tag up with 3Phase for the LD ride.......minus the proverbial mosquito control .

Yebbut it was -->.<-- that close to working and it would've been so totally awesome.... I'll try to skip the 'skeeters next year, maybe we can get a few more folks to ride back too: safety in numbers so the trucks and exploding tires will have more targets!

After some serious thinking time (like, a few months or so) and staring at Columbo's lifeless hulk in the garage, the 3H5 pistons are going back in the engine with the 2H7 head. I ordered some new rings from boats.net and I don't want to screw around with Time-Serts or Heli-Coils so Tuesday next week the head's getting the wallowed #2 spark plug hole welded and re-tapped to 14mm. Sometime this weekend I'll pull the exhaust studs too so the machinist won't cry like a little girl before setting it up on the mill.

I need to put in a new u-joint cross. Since the bike's already more than 5/8 of the way torn down I'm thinking about pulling the engine and splitting the case to replace the cam chain and any dodgy parts. And paint. The frame and a few other things need paint too -- it'll be fnu! <bright smile>

Left Columbus GA. today. Raining like a cow pi$$in' on a flat rock from Chattanooga, TN., to Padaduca, KY. where we stopped for the nite.
Only one brave soul, full gear on a Busa went by us at some 80+mph in that downpour! Figure he was lookin' for an escape, or 'one brick short of a load'.....never bailed off an exit, so thinkin' maybe it was the latter . The one time happy to be in a cage!
