Webster defines serendipity as : the phenomenon of finding valuable or agreeable things not sought for.
A few weeks ago I posted that it was getting time for me to hang up my spurs. http://www.xs11.com/forum/showthread.php?t=41845
I really wanted to find someone who would care for my three bikes as much as I have. Low and behold, Eastcoaster (Gordon) wrote and said he had lost his two XS!!'s in hurricane Sandy and was interested in picking up my three and the load of parts I had accumulated over the years. We struck a good deal for both of us and he came down Wednesday (beautiful day for a trip) and picked up the first load (two bikes and a truck full of parts). What a great guy. If he lived closer I would have found him earlier and might still be wrenching on those XS11s.
A couple of pictures from Wednesday. Still can't figure out how to post the individual pictures from Picasa. Can't seem to find the link to make [img] [/img] work.

Anyway, that feels like serendipity in operation.
A quick word about this forum. You guys are the best. Brought a couple back to life and kept them running because of you. I will always read the XS11 posts because the lessons learned here work for almost any other vintage machine. Did a couple of Hondas and still have an old Kawasaki Police Bike that I lowered enough so I can still ride it around the neighborhood or in a parade when I get a wild hair.
Thanks again,
Doug
