    Fairing & Headlight????

    Okay doe sthe Vindicator Fairing come with the headlight already installed or do you use the stock headlight?

    Just need to know if I have to replace the stock headlight after I remove the fairing.
    yes the fairing and that Saddleman seat have to go.
    Way too big and bulky. Want to find a stock seat I can have modified by Seth Laam.

      Petcocks....

      Okay after looking around in more detail it looks like they have run the fuel lines into a pair of cut off valves and then into filters and then in to the carbs.
      Has anyone ever replaced the stock petcocks with a set of Pingels?
      I have them on my Cafe Racer and they are great.

      Have to get some new carb boots on order because those have to be replaced.

        Just get rebuild kits for the stock carbs as long as they are in decent shap. Way cheaper thy way and they work well.

          Did you mean petcocks? I've had my XS650 for over 30 years. The vacuum petcock hasn't given me a minute's trouble. Rebuild them. Here's a very good tutorial linked below.

              Well it has begun.
              Just want to make sure I post in the correct area.
              Want to start my build thread and do I post that in the XS11/XJ11 thread area?

              By the way what is the air pressure level for the tires on this bike.
              I have different bikes and different air levels.
              My big sport touring bike takes 40-45 PSI.

                Yup, xs11/xj11 area would be the correct area to post a build thread.

                Air pressure all depends on the tire you choose and the weight of the bike + your weight. There is no certain number to use. Some here are down in the 20psi range others are up in the 40-45 psi range.

                  only at post #6 and you've started a tire pressure thread.
                  We don't talk about:-
                  Oil.
                  Tires.
                  Tire pressures.
                  Granny's social disease.
                  Well, we do, (except about Granny) but those topics tend to degenerate into personality clashes.
                  But since you ask:-
                  The pressure number on the tire's wall is the mfr's recommended pressure for when the tire is carrying it's maximum load.
                  Determine what load your tire will be carrying, work out the ratio between that load and the maximum load, apply that ratio to the tire wall pressure and adjust accordingly.
