    Well, I installed it today.

Headlight, running lights, and blinkers all work.

    Radio, is dead.

No biggy, I have a spare head unit waiting for it.

Well today I took it out on the highway.

The vents... I don't see a point to them... Not enough flow come from them to really make any difference...

But... The air bubble that is created by this massive fairing is AWESOME! I still have a nice breeze... But no buffeting like on my bar mounted windshield.

I got it up to 95mph today to see what it's made of, it handled it effortlessly. Much more stable feeling than the bar mounted shield.

      No parts fell off! LOL

Then tonight I went out and bought a new style halogen headlight... Broke the bank at 8 dollars! Soooooo cheap.

And actually quite effective. I was pleasantly surprised to find it was quite bright. But.. It faces a hair to the right, which bothers me.

The vents help get rid of that vacuum behind shield and somewhat balance out the airflow on both sides........really makes difference when around that left or right corner of 18wheelers out on the slab. Pretty much stops the bikes bobbing around from the buffeting turbulance.

If I remember correctly, there's 2 bolts (one on either side) in the bucket that you may be able to 'tweek' the left/right aim of the bucket. I can't remember how much play is in those 2, but there may be enough.

Another plus I have found for those vents being there is that while you like riding in a vacuum, (like I do) the rain will like it also. If like me you have that windshield set to where you are one happy camper, you may find that when you ride in the rain that the water will roll over the top of the shield and run down the rider side of it. Without those vents you will decrease your visibility by a lot. Open those vents up and the rain magically goes over your head without an issue.

I had that rain problem with my handlebar mounted shield. That rain irritated me. Lol.

So these vents cure that... I guess I set them to direct the airflow up?

3 hours round trip to get it.

a little dirty right now but all there except the antenna.

The locking compartment key is missing luckily it's unlocked so I can at least change out the lock for something else or another lock.

I plan on putting different speakers in it so I can blast my radio around town, on the highway I have my sena system for my helmet.

                  Whaddya think?
If you don't want to mount antenna externally here is way I did it. Get a rubber style car antenna. With a little work, I was able to mount it inside the Cycle Sound housing. Seems to work just fine.
                  When a 10 isn't enough, get a 11. 80g Hardbagger

It is not so much how you direct the vents as it is that the vents allow air in. The air that is allowed in between you and the windshield will negate the vacuum effect and allow the rain to follow it course up and over. Just something I noticed.

Brilliant idea about stuffing an antenna INSIDE the housing...I'll fiddle and see what look i like best.

Heck, I might just stuff my Cobra CB into it...and run a 102" whip off the luggage rack

Not sure what was stated previously, but you can solder one end of an automotive electrical wire to center of antenna plug-in, then curl it in a circle laying an approx. 18" section in bottom of housing. Works as good or at times better than an external antenna.

Think I'm Leavin My Yam Vetter On

Just got a 1979 XS1100F it's pretty nice, the "old" dude had bot it new, in 1980 or 81 he put a dealer installed color matching Yamaha by vetter on it, (same one they had on the tourer package I think) I was going to put it back to stock but I've since decided to leave it on. No touring seat, no bags, all stock but the fairing and some silly looking special handle bars which he put on and those WILL come off.

I've got TWO vetter fairings here one may have vetter sound on it, I'm in central Illinois. Prolly be cost prohibitive to ship. If you're within 250 mi of 62080 be worthwhile to pickup.
