  • My 40$ Vetter IV fairing with radio!

    I finally got one!!!
3 hours round trip to get it.

a little dirty right now but all there except the antenna.

The locking compartment key is missing luckily it's unlocked so I can at least change out the lock for something else or another lock.

I plan on putting different speakers in it so I can blast my radio around town, on the highway I have my sena system for my helmet.

    Whaddya think?

OK I'm jealous. I used to have one exactly like that on an XS11 that never ran (long story). Now I want one for my new old 80 XS11.

That'll work good for ya'. Installing some Polk all-weather audio on there will allow you to upgrade that ancient deck in the future.

Agreed, why is it that only old people can ride baggers? I am getting ready to put a trunk on my ammo can bagger.

I think I remember seeing those photos....

Wasn't it 20mm cans on each side??

I use a 20mm can as my center console in my 89 wrangler. Fits like a glove between the seats.

And I have a 50cal can on each wheel well. For more dry storage as well as mounts for my cb whips.

You might want to check the turn signal lenses for any looseness. The original glue dries out over time, and the lenses can fall out. Vetter has a site that is full of good info.
                      Bing or Google it.

Ehh, maybe it's my own preconceived notions of guys who ride baggers. I tried for a week, and everyone told me I seemed to young to ride a bagger bike. So, I ride naked bikes. When I'm older, I'll get an all black one with chrome everywhere and enjoy it. But, I'd really love an ST or FJR now.

                            old dude on a bagger

I am 75, have been riding baggers for over 40 years. I used to tour and camp all over the USA, now I ride locally with my 7 year old son. Maybe next summer we will ride to the Grand Canyon, or Yellowstone.

You might be right about your conceptions about youngsters and baggers, but I don't think you need to worry. I don't know that anyone who rides a bike older than them self fits the mold anyway.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. My bike(s) are 5 years older than myself, so I'm with you here.

It seems like most people my age are riding something with "RR" at the end of the bike's name, and some are starting to get into Harley's. If it has two wheels (or three for those so fortunate) and it makes you happy, then roll it with all your heart and let people say what they may...
