One great bike. I've had the very first for a couple of years and a month ago I bought a 2010 model in black on black. Nice colour this red one too!
Not to intend to hi-jack the thread, but IIRC, wern't you the one who was doing that fancy fabrication of the swin-sparred frame XS11. Anyway, remember the pics as the fab. progressed.

My neighbor had a 2004 FJR 1100 (maybe 1000) carburetted, the year before they went to fuel injection. I rode it and fell in love with it. It's known as a naked/upright R1 and it lives up to that moniker. Yet, it's not only scary FAST, but super smooth, nimble, throw it about as you like and it feels solid, no surprises here. Fit and finish, and storage is superb. Believe me, if you ever get a chance to try one out don't pass it up, it's a very impressive machine.
There's nothing out there that will give you a better bang for the buck.

Still 1300..........and yup, they'll fool ya' as they rock! The smoothness(little buzzy at 5K) will fool ya, but the 145ponies don't. Have ridden the same year a few yrs. back, and just a snap of the throttle with no help in third gear lofts it out as far as you got cahonies for! And that's at 5K elev. where I live.

You must be talking of the Fazer 1000 (FZ1) as the FJR1300 has always been with a fairing and fuel injection.
Mathh,
You're absolutely correct it was the FZ1, OOppss.
The FJR is also a rocker, I drove one of those as well. Just don't get the automatic shifting one, they suck and don't swallow.
