    Intell Sharing

Hi ,, My name is Bruceifer ,,, I have been involved with Forums before, Now I belong to this 1 , its my first motorcycle forum and my second is xs650.com ,,
So I read a article on here dealing with the use of ( gm module's ) to run the coils on a xs1100,,, very interesting indeed !!!, I will be rebuilding a like new looking bike in a few weeks, more about that later ! , currently I'm working on a xs650 ( its like dating a old high school girlfriend in away, anyways that project involved freeing up a frozen motor.
So to the point now , I shared the article with the xs650 forum about the ign mod , so I thought I would share something Intresting I got from the xs650 forum !!!, ever fight to unfrezze a stuck motor ? ,, check this out !

this is a neat Idea, I hope someone here can use it someday !

(this is what I shared with the xs650 forum

I'm sure no one will be upset about this, but if there is a rule about this that I broke please excuse me , let me know , and I won't do it again. I'm pretty sure that it will be ok, these forums are so much better than just a book and a brick wall to beat my head on !!! ,, Bruceifer

    leak down tester

    Hi Bruce !

    Welcome !
I've been on the 650 Yam list for 12+ years, go by UD.

First I made a leak down tester out of a spark plug, now I have not needed to make a grease fitting yet to free up the engine ( all the ones that were frozen, that I found were because of of stuck valves ). But this is good post as long as the stuck piston is stuck piston and not a valve. If it was a valve I suspect the grease pressure could bend a valve if it forced the piston to move against it ?

Thanks for sharing. It is a tip that has been used and offered here before.

To fix the problem one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.

I just made a "motorcycle compressor" fitting for a guy who owns a Goldwing...same principle on a spark plug, but instead of grease fitting, I silver soldered an air fitting...if your tire goes flat, you can screw that in, instead of your spark plug and crank your motor to use motor's compression

I must say it wasn't my idea, but his....I believe it would work on 6 cylinder Goldwing with fuel injection( you would have to unplug injector for that cylinder), but why bother if you can get $12 12vdc compressor in wally world

More air volume CF/M. Have you ever tried to seat the beads on a tire with a $12 12VDC compressor?

It's a good tip! and a very long time ago I made one myself but they're dangerous and there's a better way to do it that doesn't pump fuel/air through the hose and into the tire.

The little gadget with the three slots cut in the side is the pump:-

It's probably available elsewhere for less money and with a longer air hose but you get the idea.
