    It has a 5 year warranty, and you just plug it in and don't forget to unplug it before you go riding.
    I have used one to reclaim some marginal batteries. According to the factory engineer, the desulfator is on constantly.

    OK then, HTF does a charger know if a battery is sulphated and WTF does it do to fix it?

      I'm no battery engineer, but here is my take on it.
      A battery will accept a certain amount of current at a certain voltage if the plates are clean. When they sulfate, the sulfate acts as an insulator, which reduces the current at a given voltage. And the specific gravity (SG) goes down, since the sulfur is bound up on the plates.
      So the desulfator starts applying pulses of high voltage to the plates, and the pulses dissolve the sulfate, which returns to the sulfuric acid, and the battery accepts the charge and the SG increases. The battery Minder guy says that they are using radio frequency pulses. I know that a light bulb and a diode hooked to, what you folks up there call mains, line voltage will send half wave DC into a battery and do sort of the same thing, sort of.
      I don't know if you have access to Bing up there in the frozen wastelands of the North, but a search for "light bulb battery charger" will get you to some info on that sort of "poor mans" charger.       There are groups of tech geek's that roll their own desulfators, up to and including making their own choke coils. There again, Bing is a portal to all that esoteric knowledge. Just get someone with warm fingers to type in "desulfator" and go from there.

        We don't call them mains, that's those crumpet chompers across the water. We use the same terms you 'Mericans do.

          BTW it's only brass monkey weather up here 5 months a year.
          FYI, last night we had to drag out our portable air conditioner to get the bedroom down to a reasonable sleeping temperature.
