xs650 or xs1100???

The VIN label on the head stock should give the CC displacement.

I think the first thing I would notice is the XJ650 has a drum rear brake while the xs1100 has a disc.
Also the engine looks a little different:

Regretably only JetMechMarty can see the photos FULL SIZE since he's a member of XS650.com, most of US can't see the full size, just the THUMBNAILS.

Marty is very knowledgeable about the XS650's as well as the XS11's, it's just hard to tell much from the small images, could you REPOST them here? You'll have to use an offsite photo hosting site like photobucket.com to do so, our site does not allow direct uploading/posting photos here, just offsite LINKS.

I know you can get a letter/number character stamping set from HF fairly cheaply! Also, can you get a photo of the Vin# plate on the Clutch case cover to show us?!

+1, those pictures are really hard to see.

As best as I can tell you have a xs11 special, but we'll know more when we get some better pictures.

could be someone put an XS1100 engine in an XJ650 frame? Or it is just an XJ650 (which is a shaft drive inline 4) that was misrepresented as an XS1100.

Hey all Newbe here! i just picked up what i was told to be a xs1100 The vin numbers frame and motor match. 2f0-021509 now that corresponds to a 1979 xs650f which is a 2 cylinder right? well mine is a inline 4 stock???? plz plz help
