As I recently posted in another thread, I get to add a few new members to the site every day, and I don't want any of them to feel slighted with this post, but I wanted to publicly welcome a new member because of special conditions.
This member is Hammerhead2nd. That username will probably be familiar to many on here because HammerHead1st was a member(Greg) that we lost 4 years ago to a tragic accident. His son Justin inherited his 79F machine and applied for registration tonight. We have a few other members who inherited their bikes from their fathers who have also passed on, and the bike is a strong emotional tie with their father, either from just riding on it with them, to even working on it with them, etc.!
I lost my father over 10 years ago, and I did NOT have any big common bonds with him having grown up essentially without him, but here I am wiping away tears as I type this. But I consider this XS11 community an extended family of sorts, and so I'm hoping that Justin will come to know and consider "US" also as additional new family members as well.
Welcome to the site and to your new XS11 "family" !
