  • This Morning's ride to work

Wow, what a morning I just had. The only thing that could have made it worse, would be if it had been raining.
So, I wake up late and find out that the tunnel I normaly take to work is backed up, so I decide to take the other tunnel this morning.
So across town I go, just one exit before the other tunnel, my bike gets squirrely in the back. Great, Flat tire.
I just put this sucker on 2 months ago. It's still got most of the knobies on the sides still.
Lucky me, there's a super wally world just off the off ramp.
So, I go in and get a can of fix a flat. ($5)
Put the can of goop in and it pisses continuously out the hole.
So, I go back in and get a plug kit. (another $4)
Wrestle with the bike for 20 mins, because it wants to roll as I'm trying to force the plug in.
Whew, get that done, so now how about some air.
I very slowly ride it around the corner of wally to the auto center to get some air, and wouldn't you know it, the tire comes off the bead!
At least the guys at the service center are nice enough to get the really long extentsion cord/hose and fill up the tire.
Overall, it took me almost 3 hours to get to work for a 30 mile trip.

The ride home should be much more fun.
I'm supposed to go by Nightengale's and help him tweak on his bike.
We're gonna sync his carbs and maybe find why his headlight doesn't come on.
If we've got enough time, we'll look at my left hand light switch and try to figure out why my right blinkers act so erratically.

At almost 43, I've got a few more years to go before I can give up on working everyday.
(unless I hit the powerball! )

Check both the switch and the connection to the wiring harness, as both places can cause them to be erratic.

Thanks Cy. I plan on checking the harness connection first.
I've been in the switch a year or so ago to resolder the connections.
I hope it's not in there, but on the upside, Nightengale says he'll let me have his old one.
At least that way I don't have to rob yet another part off my SG.
That list keeps growing every month.
