  • finally got the new Vetter on

Well,I finally got the new Vetter on and wired. I think it looks great, took it for a test ride and I find i'm gonna have to get used to this stationary fairing. I find it kinda weird turning the bars and the front end staying straight. I guess it's something you have to get used to.I was wondering ,how many pounds of air should I run in the front forks now with the added weight? I think I run about 14 pounds now. Here's some pics.

The weight doesn't make that much difference. You'll get spoiled by that fairing just like I did. You'll get used to it fairly quickly. Ride the bike not the fairing.

The nice thing is the headlight doesnt follow the handlebars now. It always points ahead.

Mine is 21 1/4". It's about right but I could stand it being a little taller since I'm 6'. Especially when it's cold outside, I get brain freeze because the cold air hits my forehead. The helmet takes care of it though.

Just got back from a short ride and I snapped a couple pics I'll put up in the bike pics thread.

Nice bike. Now it needs bags to finish the cruiser look.

+1 on what Tom said, needs bags to complement that trunk.
Glad it all worked out for you.
If you hadn't of snatched that fairing up from DPotter, I would have. Unfortunately I didn't have the money at the time.

Come to think of it, I think DuWayne (DPotter) got a fairing from John (Nightengale) down here in SE Virginia a while back. I should have jumped on that one when I had the chance too.

DuWayne, I thought you sold the set off the bike you just got to Cuda and were putting the other set on your bike. I didn't know you still have an 'extra' set.

I'd love to make my SG a touring machine, or even upgrade the stuff on my G.
The only reason I thought of you is location, location, location. You're just a few (hundred or so) miles up the road, so I could possibly drive up to get them instead of shipping.

But alas, money is tight, bills must be paid, and that doesn't leave a whole lot left over for a project bike.
But the work gods might be smiling on me and i might get some overtime in the next 2 weekends, so there may be a few extra bucks available.
I just have to convince SWMBO to let me spend some of MY hard earned money.
