  • Thanks Tom,I have seen him before, watched many other similar videos.maybe I have seen too many..go to rv show up the street in a week. Will look at class b mainly, and c if I wanna do it long term.
I travel pretty light, jeans,t shirts sweat shirts and a jacket or two,Food..some canned goods, onions, spices etc. and fresh food just pick up at a local grocery store as you pass thru town.
I have been thing about a gps..I know I need a cell phone. So still very much in the planning stage..be easier to just take car and stay at motels..not my idea of having a nice time.
We shall see..stock market is down which is how I make money now.

          • Could AMTRAK it to Grand Junction, Co. and from there drive /rent two or four wheels to Durango,Colo.(3hr.trip or 4hrs. throwin' in some scenic shots going over Red Mountain Pass). Having the narrow gauge train down there, you'd get o add some train shots you've never before seen. All are running and used, and even have a couple smaller steam operated ones that move the larger train around. Summer-time, you leave here bought 9a.m.........get to Durango for lunch.........check out the train station and equip. buildings inside along with the engine turn-table........after couple hours of pic taking, head back to Grand Junction. This always made for a really fun one day ride for me. Grand Junction to Durango is 165mi........easy day ride and lunch before heading home. I'd be willing to lead, follow or ride to show you a good time associated with the steam engines, closed and open cars used!

                    • Good ole L'Amour..soo many good books, lived on them when a driver.
Well I went and did it partners ,got a class b rv.The smallest one set on a Chevy 2500 frame.I have alot to learn,de winterizing, water tanks, valves, but any way I will keep riding my 11,can't kick out a friend of 36 years can ya.

I loved my sunday rides usually short around 150 miles around this area out in the scenic country side following rivers, train tracks or to there..where every that may be.I will not give that up..thanks to Dbeardsle who has it kept alive because I admit I am not much of a mechanic, more of a traveler who loves to stop along the way to see and never get in a hurry.
You know the old guy with a hat on driving a Buick holding up traffic, sunday driver:-)

But anyway here are a couple of pics of what I got..a 42 year dream,4 years of looking.'08 Roadtrek, perfect for a single guy.

Well will try pics again,Photobucket is screwd up again.

                      • That thing is way cool - I like it! I like the size too. Seems about perfect if you're not trying to use it as a summer home. And you can take it to Chicago and not have to worry about topping it on one of their 3k+ low clearances. Very cool.

Soon as the weather warms up. Pretty sure it's gummed up carbs, what with it sitting with gas in 'em, and it just being one cylinder giving you trouble. I'm thinkin' towards the end of April/beginning of May would be a good time. I like to do carbs with the garage door open so I can get natural light on 'em, and it should be warm enough by then. Gonna need five or six cans of carb cleaner and the new diaphragms if you want them installed.
