I was near you a little while back at the Gate of Heaven when all the motorcyclists paid tribute to Officer Kim,geeze,soo many bikes and cops and the fire dept was there with the flag between two ladder trucks.
Officer Kim was a Cincinnati officer who was shot while protecting us.It was in my old hood.My cuz still lives about 150 yard away..glad I moved out.

Well Doug I won't say the medical reasons why.Yes it is heavy,I have no problems rolling down the highway,you like the way I take curves,shifting I do have to use my whole leg.

The bike has been very good to me and fulfilled every thing I expected of it.
I have been coast to coast,Beaver Island in Michigan to New Orleans,good bike well built.
Doug you made it better the last 10,000 miles.
It is set up just how I like it,bent handle bars and all from when a gang tried to steal it in Galesburg IL,my little security lock made them drop it and run
It is time to move on a little,I spend time at the tracks in KY,hard place to find couple nights a week..if I got a scooter and a trailer it would be hard to back up because I could not see it..I was never the best at trailers any way..that is why I liked tankers..get her close and the hose will do the rest:-)

My XS1100 has been parked for most of the last nine months. I've been riding either a Moto Guzzi or XS650. I got on the Eleven today. Compared to what I have been riding, it is a bit of a handful. It's heavy and carries the weight high. If you have a physical handicap, it is a poor choice. It's heavy to maneuver in the garage and on the street.

I'm not badmouthing the bike. I love it, but it is what it is.

When my dad retired he bought an Airstream and a Vespa. He used the scooter a lot, and it was fairly easy to take along with the trailer. Might make a nice accessory for your new RV.

What's the issue with the XS? Is it just too heavy with the new foot hardware? Maybe a lighter bike with a different seat height would work?

Thank you all for reading my off the wall posts.I may never ride my 11 again.Those of you who know me ..know my 11 was my ride in the cold and rain and would ride it any where and with the grateful help of a couple other XS riders here in town it was kept on the road and ran very well.
Three out of four of my last rides I dropped itI am not going to get rid of MY BIKE but I might get myself a scooter of some kind.I have ridden a bike since dad taught me on a bicycle.I am dying here not riding something.

A Bergman 650 looks cool but too much I think,just something for sunday rides in the country like I used to do.Just some thoughts after seeing a ton of bikes out today

Phil....I admit I am easily amused at the simple things in life.I have spent time next to the tracks since about the 6th grade.It taught me patience,my love of the out of doors,hiking and walking,sitting around a campfire next to the tracks and sleeping on cardboard or dirt.I like wildlife and just watching them cope with man.

I have learned to read stories about the areas I have traveled,the people,Simon Kenton etc. who knew that spirit to just be out of doors.Authors like Louis L'Amour who only wrote the good the side of our country with never using a word your 13 year old could not read.

So yes..I like simple things.
