I saw Andy Williams one year at the Great American Insurance Christmas Party. Wouldn't have been my first choice, but he actually put on a pretty good show. Great.... now I've got Moon River stuck in my head!

We were ready for the storm we thought,tarp over the top,plastic floor,hatches buttoned down,gear stoed,went to sleep with the genteel sound of rain on the tarp thinking we were secure in our little dream worlds..hard days ride,cooked a nice supper,your perfect winters dream of what you were going to do next summer and then....WHAM a killer wind comes along,rips your tarp off,water comes flooding in,you are soaked but you laugh it off..I used crushed Pepsi cans back in those days on the side stand to keep from falling over.

We must have a little bit of cowboy in us,we fight thru a canyon in the snow,we ride our favorite roads in pouring down rains,we freeze our tail pipes and handlebars bars off but yet we still do it for the love of riding and that smile you get at the end of the ride......

Is it worth it..heck yeah if you are up to it.

There is a reason you make SURE your equipment is ready BEFORE you need it! Army and Boy Scouts.... I usually use a tarp over the tent if I think the rain fly is no longer water PROOF.

I have received a few coments that I don't look like my postsI am a very gentle guy at heart,I work hard like you do,love to ride,like being out of doors,enjoy life,like to travel..not east tho:-)Got my new old van and heading out tonite to KY to do some train watching..no tv reception:-)Be back in a couple of days...anybody been on the Natchez Pky lately? I haven' t been in years,last time I had the flu so I didn't really see that much just sorrta stayed in the van and looked,not real exciting,I like reading and being where history occurred. The Chillicothe Bar pic was my t shirt a girl from our SWOHXS group had made up for our little group.I just put it on my bed and took the pic.
When I travel by train I just use my little Wal Mart NASCAR analog scanner,cheap and works fine on the train is about the size of a pack of smokes,I use my earplug when I am up in the observation car.
Yellow Springs...a hippie town:-)I guess about 80 miles from me,haven't been there in a long time but it still is known as a party town.
