  • The Midnight bobber moves a little

I got a little work done on the project. Just picked up a corbin seat on ebay for $51 and am going to make it work. I cut out the hump, in the front and hacked up the front of a special seat pan to bolt in. The frame rubbers set right on the frame and it looks like I'll be able to use the corbin's locking seat latch with some work. I'm so sick of stripping the motor that I had to work on another area. I think it's looking good so far, next I'll cut the rear of the frame and mount the back fender in the spot it is in now, or maybe a little higher to mesh with the seat better. I'm looking for a little rectangle shaped brake light and plate holder to go under the fender. Black forks and black motor with silver highlights. I think I'll let the tank the way it is and polish the heck out of it. I have a nice black factory exhaust but I may hack up a mac and see if I can do an odball one of a kind.

      Looks very cool!

      Great Look!

Don't forget that you'll need a fork brace if you are going to run without a fender on front.

Oh, My gosh! I'VE GOT ONE FOR SALE! $75.00 with shipping. PM if intertested.

            Hi 'lover,
about that front fender, you do need one. While you can choose not to go out in the rain, if the rain starts while you are out you can't always hide under a bridge until it stops and the roads dry off. Riding on wet roads in the rain without a fender lets a fan of water throw off the front wheel that will stop you seeing ahead and that's not a good thing.

OK, yes. A front fender is good.

                    Garrett,

Have a look at this one:
                    Stainless Cafe Fender

It may go nicely with what you're doing.

Thanks guys......but it's not me the xs11 is just that cool. I'm just good at cleaning and fighting with crazy ideas that are way more work than they are worth,
I looked at the fender, it's sharp but $123 would kill me.
I'm more the $20 fender at the farm supply store type.

                        Hi 'lover,
that stainless jewel is a bargain at $123 but only if there's $123 available to buy it.
I'd suggest a $25ish rusty beat-up fender from an XS750/850/1100 Special that could be hammered straight, wire-brushed, bondoed and painted would work for you.

I've got a midnight fender on the shelf.
I was looking at full fenders for the rear at tractor supply. They were around $20. The smallest size they had looked about right, but they only had one and it had some rust on it
The rear fender in the pic is pretty nasty, it will work for setup, but i'll need a good one.

I got a grinder for my birthday.

I got a grinder for my birthday. I had this crappy mac 4 into 1 and some time to kill. Does it look any better?

I put in a few hours of polishing too. The cases and covers are pretty well done. One more good cleaning of the motor and I'll paint it and sand the fins.
My fenders should be here next week.
