Cy, I do have a set of three points here that I would offer you for shipping only. I am not 100% sure of them though as the PO did drill a hole in them to mount highway pegs. There may be rust in there that I can not rule out. If they are rusted then they will be no better than the two points you already have. They are also painted black, but if you want them they are yours.
I had a mirror around here somehwere but damned if I know where it is. I may have thrown it out as I do not really like the round ones.
As for returning to work...why...let the insurance pay for your lost time at work. That is why insurance exists ...for goofs who do dumb sh*t like the guy who crashed you.

Cy, I have clear memorries of going through what you are. As I tell people, when I started watching the Jerry Springer show, and felling entertained I KNEW it was time to do something, either get back to work or go referee shuffle board matches at the local retirement center...something...ANYTHING!!! However, make sure your ready before you go back to work. Let your body heal first, because once you start back to work, it is very tough to reverse that decision.
Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

When your work speaks for itself, don't interrupt.

In main because I need to be able to pay my health insurance premium, and on disability and such I can't afford the premium, and being self employed which means I pay for my own health insurance, if I don't earn enough to pay for it, I don't have any. As it is, I had just barely enough billable hours this month to cover my insurance premiums, and that was without holding back anything for my estimated quarterly tax payment like I should have. I know I should be able to recover all that from this idiot, but that won't get back the missed coverage from the time I didn't have any coverage.

As for the three points, let me know how much the the shipping will be and how I can send it to you, I would much rather have 3 points, and I plan on having highway pegs on there anyways and if drilled I can put that style on them or put the clamp on style over the holes (we don't get much rust around here).

"...which reminds me, I've got to buy a set of highway pegs too."

Hi Cy, I hope You're feeling better, we don't heal as quickly as we used to
I have this set of Hi way pegs that are collecting dust if You're interested, for shipping. They have no road rash just need cleaned up a little. LMK GWS

I can't remember what type your old pegs were, but I've got just one of the clamp on type that your welcome too if you want it. The other one broke the mount when my bike tipped over so I just took the other one off.
I find that I'm much more comfortable on the free way sitting with one leg folded under me than I am with the highway pegs anyways...

Those look like they would work well. What would be the shipping cost to zip code 95838? Since the PM system is down you can email me at cywelch at hotmail dot com. Or you can post it in here, I'm sure the PM system will be back up soon.

With the PM system down it doesn't bother me to post my postal code publicly as that doesn't give someone enough to track me down, unless they can already. My postal code is 95838, when you can find them, I can put the two point ones on in the meantime if I have to, they are better than nothing (maybe).

Just an update. I'm not all better yet, but I am getting better. The Dr's (both of them) gave the OK to ride yesterday as long as I take it easy and don't overdo it. Keep it down to short rides for now (10-15 minutes duration and avoid rough roads) and take it easy.

Got the bike on the road today, not 100% of the work done, but the mechanical stuff needed to make it road worthy and safe is all done.

                          Things done:

                          Repaired/Adjusted Saddlebag lids and mounting
Adjusted Fairing Mounting (had shifted slightly when it hit the ground)
Replaced ignition cover with 81 cover to match engine and alternator cover
replaced highway pegs with two point case guards and trying to get the highway pegs I got to lock in place so they don't move around, I think I about got that licked.
                          Replaced clutch lever
Replaced left mirror (for now with left mirror from my XS400 till the one I ordered from ebay arrives)

                          Things still need done

Replace one isolator on trunk (bunkee)
Repaint tank to repair damage from gas running out

I also replaced my helmet yesterday with a BiLT modular helmet from Cycle Gear. Normally a $199 helmet for $99. It's reasonably comfortable and a good bit lighter than my old one as well. And while it's a little more than my old one, it's a nice upgrade.

Just thought I would post an update here.

Just as I thought things were getting better, I got word from my attorney that the guy who hit me has only the legal minimum insurance, which means that his insurance doesn't even cover my medical bills! I do have unisured/underinsured motorist coverage up to 30,000 per person and 60,000 per accident, so that will cover my medical bills (just barely, with nothing left for pain and suffering or lost wages etc) . Next step is he is trying to get my health insurance to cover the emergency room at least, which takes away 25,000 in medical bills right off the top and leaves money for lost wages and pain and suffering, but we don't know if that's going to happen yet.

Then I took the wife out to lunch in the car and on the way back I looked off to the side for a second, and traffic had stopped in front of me , I knew I couldn't stop in time so I attempted to move to the shoulder as I was in the fast lane but the rear tires lost traction and the rear passenger door of my car hit the driver side of the rear bumper of the car ahead of me.

Fortunately there were no significant injuries in our car and I'm not sure about in the other car, although I'm told there were some although they said they were ok at the time. It was over 5000 damage to the other car and well over 4000 to ours which is over the highest value for the car so it's totaled.

Then to add insult to injury, I finally got released to return to work, and after having done stuff under the table for a month and a half to keep things running they told me that they didn't have to funding for my position so my services were no longer needed. So after all this time and all the effort I've given them they stabbed me in the back, such lovely people.

So now I'm looking for a job, and looking for a car, with no money to buy the car and hoping that when things settle out that I end up with a settlement from the first accident that will leave me with enough to purchase a car out of.
