  • Riding Jacket

I just picked up a LBZ asphalt armor jacket for $25 from a friend of mine. My wife and youngest took one look at it and raised H---. Said it looked like a gang members jacket. Ok, I can see that. Does anybody here know how to remove the silk screen on the jacket? I guess I want it to not look like a middle aged guy having a crisis Right now the only way to do that is either not wear it or go so fast nobody can get a clear look at it.

    Keep it...

Hey Tim,,,,be the MAN,,,,your wife will get used to it over time, its not like you are in a gang, well, Yamaha xs11 gang. BUt that isnt the axx holes or wannabee Club Harley riders. Maybe stick a Yamaha xs11 patch or two,,,,one of those old guy rule patches. If you like it, it fits good, it protects your bod, then she should be happy for you. Good luck, Mike in Sun DIego

Never was a question of whether or not I was going wear it or not, just as to whether it could be modified. My job in life is to embaress my kids, so this is a perfect prop for that. Wife actually agrees with the idea of the extra protection no matter what it looks like. I was just asking if anybody had any ideas or experince in altering the graphics on a jacket like this.

          Tim,

It helps knowing what material it's made of. You could concievably "paint" it over with some kind of dye/stain appropriate for that material.

You can tune a piano but you can't tuna biker?

A good dry cleaner should be able to dye it. Or YOU could if it's not leather.

                  jacket

Get a levi jacket. Cut the sleeves off. Put a big XS11 patch on it. Maybe a Wild Hogs patch too. Wear that over the jacket. Then you won't look like a gang member

Get a big "Smiley Face" patch and sew it on the back.
