The only final drive I've seen break and lock up is Special Ed's when all the oil leaked out. It didn't explode.

The only people that've brought up exploding 750 drives is you, Greg and Rodrunner.

So, Randy, how do you know the drive is going to explode? Have you actually done an inspection or are you just taking a second cheap shot while you kick the strawman y'all have set up?

Yes Greg...see Randy's comments from earlier.

NOW, let's all stop this CRAP of baiting, provoking, etc., Randy, Greg, BNE, Scott. We all know that "some" folks do not agree on what's been found, discussed, etc.,, fine, discuss it, but stop this other crap!

Thanks TC. I think there's been some great discussion, but there has been some baiting going on. I think there's also been a bit of good nature'd banter mixed in there with it, but I'm having a hard time telling where some of it lies.

I was just wondering why I was included in that list. I don't think I said anything about "expoding".

                Did I?

I hadn't said anything about it. We were kinda just having a good time there in a thread that Cy had started.

Sorry if we hurt anyones feelings or anything.

None needed to me, Roadrunner, but I do apologize to T.C.

Personally I'm not angry, I think it's hilarious!

Lately, every time a final drive conversation gets started, it doesn't matter which thread, sooner or later it gets around to exploding final drives.

The hilarious part is that the same people that came up with the idea of exploding final drives in the first place are the ones doing most of the scoffing at the very idea of ... something that has never actually been a real problem, ever!

On that we agree..it's hilarious, you've finally come full circle...it was never a problem until you tried to destroy your FD.

I don't see why T.C. would need an apology, he wasn't the target of any jokes.?

Yeah I neither agree or disagree on the topic of failed final drives and how you reached that conclusion...My "joke" was an attempt at being funny nothing more...since i knew that invariably someone was making some good natured banter nothing malicious in my intent.

No he wasnt the target but he is upset nonetheless...but if the intent wasnt malicious..and it wasnt.. then i dont see some good natured ribbing as being anything to be concerned about. being that were all on the net... often times its all too easy to mis-interpret one's intentions and meanings. Okay folks move along...nothing more to see here...

I think he is just worried about it getting out of hand. He doesn't want it to turn into a fight, or to get to the point of bad feelings, and wants to step in and damp things down before it gets to that point (there Greg, you see how I got MY title over on .org huh?)

I'm back! Randy, I'm at JFK, so let's share that beer.

Back when I jumped into this whole thing, I was merely upset that the FD mod was being touted as a universal improvement. Cy, was much better at articulating my sentiments many posts later. Since we've clearly established the fact that it isn't, (a universal improvement) I am now content.

Maybe if you were psychotic an exploding final drive would be hilarious. I haven't seen any 750 or 1100 final drives explode. Ever. It definitely wouldn't be funny if it ever did happen.

So you've invented your own meme and you're back to your own circle of jokes about bad things happening to other people. I would prefer it if you would leave me out of it.

T.C. needed and received an apology because he felt he had to step up as Moderator. Whether it was or was not necessary is not the point and has nothing to do with it.

I think what got silly about this, is that I don't think anyone ever said that an FD was going to explode in seriousness, it was all in jest on that. Frankly I'm not sure how many FD's are going to fail under normal use. You obviously pushed yours pretty hard, probably actually harder than even Greg does his, and he doesn't baby his. It's also sounding like there may be a variant that will handle the mod better than the one you were running, and at some point I'm going to pull mine and see if it's the right type.
