There was some discussion on the site about the running of the XS11 engine over the red line. You should know that Ron Teson built a top fuel dragster with the XS engine and Jim Bernard rode it to a world record 7.57 second 183.67 MPH in the quarter mile.

The xs11 is lighter than most used in dragsters, a one peice crank and larger displacement than other engines use for dragsters along with strong stock valves etc. made it the best choice for a top fuel supercharged dragster.

Richard, alot of internal "race" mods were already done in stock form. Now that one definitely had some SERIOUS additional mods! In stock form, providing years and miles of service has to create some metal fatigue.......that which I do not have any reason to speed up by twisting 10K just because it can..........tick.......tick........tick.....and to no gain as max.h.p/torgue are produced below the 8500 anyways........

No more internal mods to the race engine...totally stock internals.

It would be interesting to know how much additional horsepower they were getting out of the motor and I would imagine that the chain drive was letting them get most of it to the rear wheel.
