I think I was able to get 50 to 55mph on my '78, in '77!

I recall back in '79 that I was able to do 0-60mph/100kph in first gear. I am unable to do that with my current bike.

Any thoughts on the following??

I'm recalling incorrectly. (Am I that old)
My current bike is 32 years older than my original.
I still need to do a carb sync.
