  • OMP reg/rec units and valves for the XS11

I don't normally make posts about my business but it's been a F'ing strange year and I feel the need to say a few things.

I've been sick most of May. It started out with the flu, then progressed to a chest cold and ended up in double pneumonia. I never thought my asthma was that bad but the pneumonia has really pushed it over the top. The doc says I'm going to be as weak as a kitten for a couple more months.

I've toyed with the idea of retiring but I know that when I get better, I'd miss this. Right now I couldn't be much more swamped and if anybody wants one of my products, be prepared to wait for it.

About the valves, I'm about 98% sure I don't want to deal with them anymore. If someone wants to take over the valve group buys, I'll pass the info on to them. I'm thinking I'll sell the 4 late intakes I have and keep the 2 full early engine sets for my bikes...

        Hi Tony,
if you can afford to retire, go for it! Many retirees have said "I dunno however I found the time to go to work".
OTOH, you best keep up some kind of activity or you'll turn into a TV-addicted turd.
        And get well soon, eh?

          Tony,
Do as the Doc tells you, and get better! Do NOT try and "push it", as you'll get a relapse!
As far as the Valves, IF you have no takers, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

I know some like that and all they do is watch politics and American Idol. No thanks.

Geezer you rest up and don't worry - stay as involved as you can tolerate -- your family will welcome the extra time.

            Get well soon.

              Tony,

Very sorry to hear of your troubles. Hope you get better soon, I know form experience how bad it sucks to be down and out!!

As for retiring, do what you enjoy, but do not wait on leaving the bullcrap behind. I say this as my father planned to retire at 65, he lived 64-1/2 years.

I dont really know you much as we have had no dealings but I advise.....to hell with the valves and all the other stuff. Make it easy on yourself, get better and hang around awhile more. We geezers need geezers like you.

Thanx guys. I've decided to dump the valves. I can't work for long without stopping for a rest/nap so I'm looking to hire a helper for at least the next few months.

It turns out I'm more emotionally attached to my business than I thought and I can't seem to live with the idea of shutting it down. We are also getting more serous about moving out of the city. Before it was because I'm sick of the city now I need cleaner air for my health...

I know that if I had the time I'd be reloading ammo, shooting, hunting and fishing. Then trying to squeeze in my motor projects the rest of the time. I can't see myself becoming a couch potato...

I started the reg/rec business as a way to kill time waiting for the computer business to rebound so I could find a job. The jobs never came and the demand for the bike stuff kept on growing. I really think I've started something good here but I need to get help or get out... Right now I'm looking for reliable help and is sure as S**T isn't my son in-law.

I know this, your Reg/Rectifier is the bomb! That is one of your best so far. You have a customer for life in me, your stuff is first rate.
                        Thanks

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Thankfully, I have a ways to go before I have to worry about those things (I hope, anyway). If I was closer, I'd love to help out with the reg/rect stuff, as my dad is an electro-mechanical engineer and I sorta learned some of it by osmosis.

I wish you a speedy recovery, regardless of the other stuff. Just get healthy.

Tony, even though i live just across the river from you, i am sorry i can't help out. I have found that using my hands for steady small parts work is not very good, and the fuel expense prohibits me from doing it. You get better so you can continue the good work you started. When you are well enough, we need to ride down and see PopRock.

                              reg/rec

Sure wish I lived closer to you, Tony. I am always looking for something interesting to do. Really luv your reg/rec, it is working very good. I was thinking of doing T C's alternator mod, but your reg is doing just fine. Hope you are better soon, and can keep up the fine work. I am almost 73, and still going strong. Hang in there!!!
