    2011 Yamaha Super Ténéré:

    Random racing XS11:

    Blue XS:

So I think that though the Ténéré is a 2 cyl 1199 It seems oddly familiar...It reminds me of a modern day XS...though it looks like a hybrid of sorts ranging from a sports bike to a dual sport, the mechanics such as the driveshaft, and the sitting position controls etc. are much like the xs1100 and another interesting thing is going off the principle that all prices double every 20 years you could figure out that the bike would sell brand new for about the same price as this Ténéré...and the last picture i posted on here has a striking resemblance to me of the Ténéré, much like any other XS with a front fairing...Absolutely brilliant I SAY! we should all start a protest for Yamaha to bring back the XS...they could call it the XS11 NewGen if they were to do it...

Oh I love it..and if it were here i'd already have one. If anything we should be lobbying Yamaha to bring it here. They've had in in Eurp for yrs...but all we got was the FJR1300...not that its a bad bike but the XJR is one bitchin' ride!

I just showed my wife and she said "you should get one"... then I said they are only offered in Europe. Then she said "import it, it can't be that much" lol! Any idea what they cost and how much importing cost?

I've heard it mentioned that if you did get one over here, you wouldn't be able to regester it. Something to do with the overseas VIN numbers.

Don't know for sure, but what I read (somewhere) is the US VIN # system won't accept numbers for vehicles that are prohibited for sale in this country. There had been a discussion here on this some while back.

The nissan skyline was never available for sale but I know a guy that has one. Granted he bought it from someone else and didn't have to deal with the importing issues whatever they may be.

Thats crazy that you posted this, cause on my adventure to find bar-end mounts that i did find and that i have now found that dont fit, I saw a similar bike today!...It was at a shop in Indio, CA which for anyone who lives in cali i hope you race to get it, I was actually all about it when i saw it too!...for those who want to import a bike i have some good news and some bad news...the bad news is, its expensive...on a 30g car such as a skyline it would cost about 10g's to import it and have everything changed over to pass a stateside inspection...unfortunatly for us that sux...the reason for expense is because from my understanding they all have to be imported through CA...and as we all know CA has stupid rules about emissions and safety crap...however...you could import it into Canada, and then bring it state side...take it to a state that has low standards like montana and register it...then afterward take it to whatever state you want and change the registration over to your state...this can be troublesome for CA residence as your bike has to have over 7000 miles on it before you can register it in CA without having to change everything over to CA...but possible all the same...but since theres a similar bike in the states already...the good news is its already here... its the FJR1300 and it looks like this: its not exactly the same and has some def different looks to it, but it is close...
