Startin' to look like it would be cheaper to buy a parts bike to get one...

I went way higher than I could afford right now. I started it off.

        Oh well........

          keep checking with andreasweiss

he listed parts may 01 for 81h - maybe he has a tank. I bought mine from him last year in good shape with locks and cap for $110 including shipping. He really is a good source. Check parts forum.

Yeah, I bid on it till I hit my budget at about $40 and stopped. I see it went for about 3 times that. So much for getting a good deal on a venturer tank.

I didn't mean to imply you hadn't - I simply wanted to remind folks that he manages to always gets his hands on alot of XS parts all the time.

                No offense meant.

                  None taken...

It should have been obvious. You go to the man with the skins on the wall!!!

Don't know why it never crossed my mind to check with andreasweiss.
                  Thanks for the nudge.

                    Ditto on Andreas.
Got a replacement tank for the venturer from him last year as well, $100 shipped naked.

Still have my old one on the shelf. It has a couple pinholes on the top. Looked like it had been kreamed but moisture got under it, at least on the top side. Haven't taken the time to get it cleaned out.

Yeah, but...doesn't "other than sane Steve" sound nicer than "less than sane Steve"? I mean, we don't want our value systems implying something negative do we?

Yeah, but he says it's factory paint but it's clearly a repaint as the chrome trim around the gas cap has been painted cause whoever painted didn't bother to take the chrome piece off before painting (even I'm not that lazy).
