I wave at anyone on two or three wheels and even some that wave from the four wheel stuff. Most wave back HD's and Metric's, if they don't oh well I was on my way somewhere anyway. When it comes down to it, riding is riding if I couldn't ride what I have I'd ride what I could get. Cause riding is about the most enjoyable thing you'll ever do.

reading through the five pages of these comments and i keep finding stuff about harley riders not waving...I too notice this on occasion...the thing is I dont always wave...sometimes I throw my hand out too late, after they pass and i think...I bet they think I think i'm too good...So i give everyone who's riding solo the benefit of the doubt that they aren't waving because they simply weren't paying as much attention as I was...or that they figured it too dangerous or simply don't know its common practice because they just bought a bike on whim and have never had any bike friends...

As for the ones who i believe don't wave on purpose is those who are actual MC's and i give them two reasons i figure they dont wave...the first is that they dont want to wave while riding in the pack due to the proximity of their bikes and the second is because I think most MC riders don't believe those of us who aren't in an MC aren't real bikers...and to be completely honest I find it kind of irritating to have waved to someone who was clearly NOT a biker too, that is someone who wouldn't really help u out if needed etc. but just wave because they think its cool or they feel if they wave thats what it means to be a biker...take for instance these two guys at applebees the other night...they were all dressed up the part, and had their really nice harley's but i pitty them if they ever run into an MC because I think the MC will strip them of their bikes and put some real pipes on em...and yes i know i shouldn't judge them by the sound their bike makes but it just seems "POSER" to me and though most of us will wave at them if they realize thats what we do that doesn't make them a biker...reminds me of that movie "WILD HOGS"
dont get me wrong I dont actually have a problem with people who just ride bikes because its cheaper...but there are those of us who do it because to not ride would be like losing a left testicle...you'd be able to fuction, but nothing would ever be quite the same afterward...

I usually wave unless I'm watching the road or the traffic.

I was somewhat amused on the way home from the Dream Machines show when, for the first time in thirty years of riding, some gay pirate on a Harley going the other direction on the other side of the freeway center divider let me know he was single and looking for a good time. Now, I'm not 100% certain he really was a pirate but the costume was perfect.

I thought Sep 19th was "Talk like a Pirate Day"
