                              Riding gear

Bright orange gloves from the Marine supply store, what the fishermen wear.
Bib wet weather type pants from West Marine, sailing gear. Felt lined rubber boots, Wal Mart type store. Down filled vest from Value Village ( used clothing store ) good quality riding jacket with a waterproof jacket over it. Marine stores have rain gear that does not leak.
Long Johns and long sleeve under shirts from the outdoor store. They have thin stuff that works. Silk scarf about four feet long from the ladies department. Stops the draft going down your neck.
I ride about 70 miles to get home, tempurature mid thirties. I take no chances with icy roads. These bikes are too heavy for that and the tyres will not work. For shorter trips on snowy or icy roads, a dual purpose bike with trials universal tyres is best. Needs to be light weight which means something like the old Honda XL350.

A full fairing makes a huge difference for staying, or trying to, stay warm.
