A normal battery ill take about 18 hours at 10 amps to reach full charge. It is best to load test it after you believe it has a full charge. I personally use a hydrometer to test. May be the charging unit as well.1980 XS1100LG Midnight

Definitely check the fluids if it is not a maintenance free type. Otherwise, your battery sounds very suspect. I would agree, have it load tested. Chances are it has a bad cell or two and your discharging as soon as the charger quits charging so it kicks back in to bring the charge back up.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!
