I have looked and was unable to find a way to reduce the size of the movie I made about removing and installing carbs so I have posted them on photobucket in case anyone here has a method of doing that. The removal is in one movie and the install is two because the cameraman got involved and caused a problem so we stopped the movie to correct the problem and restarted so they need to be connected together. The files range between 50and 71 mb so it's a long download.

Editing Bay Error

Good raw video to work with and a great idea to host it on photobucket.

I downloaded one of the vids and saw that it was an mp4 file. My editing software doesn't work with that type of video. I tried to open the downloaded file with my stuff and got the usual error message. <CLUNK>

Oh well....Can't be done with the programs I got but then I'm sure there's someone else here on channel 11 who does have the ability to work with those "newer" cameras and the files.

Just expect the scene changes to have all sorts of glitzy effects added like Starwipes, the page tumbling out and in. Who Knows?

They prob'ly have an audio editor that'll make your narration voice sound like Sean Connery.

As I have said, it takes less than 3 min (2 min 40 sec) to remove the carbs.

The problem was caused by the cameraman in the Install vid 1, he broke the rules and tried to help by putting the clamp on the no 2 airbox, but he put it upside down and was a problem because it won't turn without taking it back off, grrr. So, we stopped the vid to rectify the problem and restarted. These two vids are in no way indicative of the operation of putting the carbs back on. Normally it requires MUCH less time.

Cut out that <mistake> and then make it look like it never happened. Plus change the frame rate so it looks like you're working fast like a surgeon at a trauma center.

Still...that's the "hollywood" version. Not even close to reality.

I sorta like the unaltered "documentary" version. Like XS Reality TV. Prob'ly more useful/informative for those who've never pulled a carb bank off.

So, no one has editing software for this?

At least we can see that removing/installing the carbs is not a reason to remove the airbox, as it is really very easy and not time consuming as most suggest.

Nice seeing videos of how to do things. Pictorials are good, but seeing someone go through the motions of doing something rather than in-between stills is much more instructive and gives more confidence that I could do it myself. Thanks!

Look closely

The vid shows the secret to removing. Pull the airbox back and tilt up the backs of the carbs up to remove them from the manifolds. I will admit that this was all learned while learning to tune the carbs and you can see it took me a long time and probably at least 50 times on and off. So people shouldn't get discouraged the first few times.

I downloaded the MP4 files and spliced them together. I just have to do some final editing so the 'less than five minutes to install the carbs' video is actually less than five minutes long instead of almost six and a half minutes.

I should have it done tomorrow!

Tripods

Have no hands, but they don't know where and when to zoom to catch the details. It's OK anyway, I just wanted to show that it was easy and therefore maybe save someone the trouble of rejetting and such because they got frustrated with the airbox.
