      Nate is correct...the 4RO is specific to the 81 special model, as is the H or SH as shown on the owners manual specific to the 81 model year. While only the 4RO VIN makes it officially an 81 model as everything else could be changed or bought and added to an 80 bike.

      Also, the side cover emblems are specific to the 81 Special with the "Nike Swish" and the cursive "Eleven Special" with no XS in it.

      Another tip off is that the engine timing cover and alternator covers have the black circle around them, this was an 81 model year item.

        Note to self, "ok dummy, look at ALL the pictures first" actually the fact that it's an H/SH manual says it also, as that is an 81.
