      Yikes! Glad you're okay!

The bike should have shut itself off. Did the tipover switch malfunction or was it removed?

Thank God your ok! That sounded like it could have been much worse.

Did you have your carbs off recently and maybe upon reinstallation the throttle cable got tangled in the wires under the tank maybe?

Well heal up soon, and good luck with the repairs, Glad your ok.

It's kinda scary hearing about accidents as I work up to getting my own bike running. I haven't had any get-downs yet...knock on wood(taps his head) but I'm going to make sure a few of those safety features are working before I do any riding.

Good to hear you are well enough to type and let us know what happened. I hope the pain isn't too bad, I know how it can be when the pain killers don't work. Never have worked on me either. Rest up and good luck with the new bike.

I highly recommend taking the MF course to anyone who has not ridden much. Even old riders can learn from it IMO.

                  throttle hangup

                  Hi,

Thanks for the wreck report, its always much better to hear about a problem from someone else than to go thru it myself as well.

I am very glad that you werent hurt real bad at least. I will concur with the fella that said the oxycontin et al isnt pleasant to get off of. I had my bout with vicodin after knee surgery, took six months to wean off of it and was it good to be off that stuff,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
After my carbwork, I discovered that there were two points where the throttle cable was potentially getting hung up. One was a clamp outcropping that was dangerously misaligned near the cable outlet, and the other was an aftermarket oil line that was actually mistakenly put into harms way by me. Fortunately, the throttle cable itself was very snatchy and grabby and on inspection, both these things were discovered but only after I had test ridden the bike . Thank God I discovered them before I got in real trouble. Both are good now, and throttle is nice and smooth.

Also see my blurb in new item review section re cable luber from fleabay.
