Time of build - 1 year of now and then while I rode it and found parts I liked. Tool were a grinder, sander, tap and die set, sawzall, box cutter, socket set, 2 tire irons, soldering iron, hammer, screwdiver set, xs11.com sync gauge, xs11.com members, compressor, dremil, and a little imagination.

Looks good. Best 200 hrs ever. You could have saved some scratch on the tool bag, though. Only Harleys NEED to carry tools around all the time. Instead of ATGATT it would be ATTATT

I had nowhere else to hide the wiring harness. Works good at holding my goggles too....

Hey Brad: You gave me a big smile with the name man - but its the bike! Great idea with the tool pouch for you wiring. I must be different cause my tool pouch on my front forks is just loaded with stuff. I even have stuff in a pouch in my saddle bags. I'm not a pack rat I just have used many things when I had my xs650 & habits die hard. Oh, I am photo challenged so sorry no pics from me - Dan

Great job, I like your forward controls. I've been looking for saddlebags like that just about since I got my bike. Where'd you find them? And for only $20?! I'm impressed.

I found my saddlebags at a swap meet at a rodeo, they were new. I oiled them with motor oil, then died them black 6 months later.v I was told you can find those at a Saddlery, Western or Tact shop.

Yes, they should be readily available at any good saddlery outlet, but MOTOR OIL OMG. Please tell me that's not a common practice of yours. Neatsfoot oil is the only oil your should ever put near leather. Any dyes should be vegetable based only, and any surface waxing should be beeswax based. Leather is skin and to keep it supple and strong it should only ever be treated with natural products. Synthetic products and other chemical laden products serve only to seal the surface and stop it from breathing properly which will eventually cause it to rot from the inside out. The very popular SnowSeal is an extremely good waterproofer for hiking boots etc, but it's silicon based and not a good product for the long term protection of items like bags etc, it can and does cause rot.

Sorry it I'm ranting but leatherwork has been our hobby for 30 years and I'm very opinionated on the subject
