Speaking of the Jardine spaghettis, what do you do on them to keep them from leaking at the collectors? I mean to take them off and on I have to take them apart there, but I don't think I can use something that will cement them together there, but what can I do to keep them sealed?

Robert, I didn't know you also had a Midnight Special!

Cy, this stuff works on the collector pipes very well to keep them from leaking...

Permatex also makes a hi-temp copper sealant.

Go to NAPA and get a tube of Walker Acustiseal. Run a bead of it around the ned of the header pipe, then shove it in.

Its worth the money to keep it and have it ceramically coated...I would hold onto that one

                Back for more

                Hey guys,
Sorry been riding and/or working on the boat and fishing and have been away.
                Rob,
I have the standard jetting on the J, it came with it, but I had an issue with it running smoothly between 1.5K and 2.2K rpm. Phil and I tried everything under the sun and still couldn't get it to smooth out, so I just went to a larger pilot jet (#50, I think) and that took care of that. I'm running the std air filter which I baby big time. So far it hasn't been an issue, thinking about the K&N mod but that's another story.
In so far as the SS Jardine 4X2, yeah, the #1 is loose and I was wondering how to seal it up. Phil suggested ultra black but, I like Ivan's suggestion. I'll let you know what happens when I get there. Right now it's down to the frame engine and rear wheel, after my son slammed into a parked car. Currently under restoration.
