My $1200 LG is STILL running well. A set of tires, oil, plugs, and ride. The cosmetics are not as nice as I'd like, but they will get better as time and money dictate. I still call this one my "pretty bike", because it's the nice one that is running.

        My G

Mine came with a Kerker 4X1 and that's the way it is now. May install a Jardine 4 X 2 spaghetti. But here it is as it stands now.

For the exception that I just added a glare hood over the instruments.

I posted non-spec for Great Ranger

but the handlebars are the only non-OEM item on it - its in very good condition for age as far as I am concerned and looks nice and gets compliments - I bought replacement bars from andreas that haven't gone on yet - maybe this week...

            I traded an XS400 +$400 for it - I think I did OK.

Well, the 81 I just picked up is not spec, some welding has been done on the center stand, fairings and bags removed, non-stock headlight. Oh and it doesn't run right now but I expect that to change in the next week or so, gotta find time to pull the carbs!

My '81 is finally all done up, took a year. It is stock, but the motor is an 80 & has forwards on it and I made a luggage rack for behind the stock sissy bar. The seat has been re-done & back pad. It is pretty much stock except I have iso grips, bags & a few decals & emblems/do dads on it. Hey the the brass licence plate holder is from '81. I rode it to work today & can see it right now through the window as I write this - Man I love that bike - Dan

I was luckier than most. Bought my 80G, hardbagger from the first owner and it truly was a turn key ride off. Low miles and well cared for. Full "Factory" touring package, all OEM Yamaha stuff. Pushing 73K now and the only engine work has been a carb rebuild and clutch replacement. The normal stuff like tires and and brakes are just "wear" items.
                        When a 10 isn't enough, get a 11. 80g Hardbagger

Well, used to be basically stoc and about showroom, but since March 10th, well, not so much. But much like me, it will recover and be repaired, all in due time.

Wendi, they are both 1981 XS1100 Specials. The other one was not so much stock, or show room. But it is now in better condition than Thunderstruck.

I told my kids I was now thw six million dollar man and I was hoping I could now use my right leg to jump on top of tall buildings and stuff. They had no clue. Funny thing, when I was kid my mother made me stop watching that show cause I thought all of it was real and possible. She of course said no it was not and thought I it was bad for me to think it could be so. And now, I bet a paycheck or two that in todays world every bit of it is entirely possible if not being done in secret somewhere.

But I had to switch to the Wonderwoman video before I made it through the Six Million Dollar man one for some reason.
