Why limit this to just 80 and 81?

There was already a thread that asked about the earlier years.

I dunno if "Very good" is a proper description, but mine is definitely in better condition than some. Of course, maybe I'm just anal and see every little detail that detracts from perfection...

      1981 XS1100LH Midnight Special (Sold) - purchased 9/29/08
Fully Vetterized and Dynojet Kit added, Heated Grips, Truck-Lite LED headlight, Accel Coils, Irridium plugs, TKAT Fork Brace, XS850LH Final Drive & Black SS Brake lines from Chacal.
Here's my web page devoted to my bike! XS/XJ User's Manuals there, and the XJ1100 Service Manual and both XS1100 Service manuals (free download!).

Because there is already one for 78 - 79's and I figured that XJ's deserve their own thread on their condition.

It's not 'Spec', there have been way too many repairs and modifications for that but it is in excellent condition.

            Regards,

Mines not spec (not with the Vetter fairing, trunk and bags) but I would rate it as good condition, and it's getting better all the time.

Of course as you know, a part here and a part there and pretty soon it adds up to real money.

Parts bikes don't count ... so

                LG
engine out (cases split), exhaust in pieces under work bench, still missing a couple parts. (eventually a complete restore)

                G
As soon as I finish (some day soon I hope) working over some cosmetics I'll be pulling the engine to paint from the frame up, possible powder coat. (not a stock G)

                SH
Sitting for a while, way down on my to do list

Not in any hurry for any of them to become road worthy. Currently can't afford insurance or a couple batteries for the SFs which are near cherry

Sorcien is at 110%! All numbers match, everything runs perfectly! And I enjoy the hell out of waiting for HD's to take off from the lights so that she can run 'em down before they've hit second...
This week-oil change, timing belt adjust(it's new), clutch adjust, 2 new tires, new brake pads, and a total once-over to make sure she's ready if the weather holds!
                        Greatest bike in the world!

My 80sg is in very good condition with exhaust showing the usual imperfections. I did change the seat to the replacement King /Queen seat .

It's just me at the edge..........waving
