I used Its-titles to title my 77 XS750 a few years ago. They actually registered it in Maine, as a bike that old didn't need a title there. Getting me plates good for a year. A year later I took the registration and transferred it to a Texas Title. All said and done, It cost right at $200 as the DMV here charged me an out of state transfer. It looks like ITS went up on their pricing as it's now $250 for a motorcycle older than 1994 and they are registering it in the state of Vermont.

      Scappod,
You SHOULD be able to register it in California with a Bill Of Sale. IF the bike has not been stolen, loose the plate and have someone here register it. you then "buy" it back, and re-register in Nevada. I do know some states will let you fill out a "statement of facts" to help register. Try going to one or two different DMV offices and see if you can find someone who is "helpful", and understands the DMV codes.

Yes, depending on the age and/or value of the vehicle you might have to get a bond on it, and it's not a normal title in that case (been there done that), but that's only for I think the first 2 years or something like that. It might be better to go through one of the title companies.

PS, just got my W2 and found that I'm getting far less back then I thought, so any thought on my part about buying the bike just went out the window.

And to make matters worse, because my wife who can't work was still fighting with the student loan folks about her student loan, they took our stimulus payment, and it was still of course deducted from our return for this year (her medical condition preventing her from working came up a few years ago, finally they agreed she will only have to repay if she is able to work again, and to make it worse, she can't get SSI even though she paid in for many years because *I* make too much. And she won't divorce me and then just live together to get the money.)

          All,
Thanks for all of the info,
I think I will swing for getting her titled and see if that works. I will need a bill of sale though so I will get that this weekend.
