  • 1981 xs 1100 standard

    Ladies and gentlemen,
I have just aquired a 1981 xs11 standard with the big tank, It's a non titled unit and was wondering if there is any interest here. I may part her but there seems to be a goo potential runner. She turns over and her carbs are clean
so let me know if there is an interest.

Fire that sucker up and get ready for spring! Lots of riding to be done then. That big tank will come in handy out there.

No No No No No, I want the tank, me me me.

Any little extra bit of gas means more range, and I want more range (of course don't we all?)

Well, I don't know, what are we talking cost wise? I know that a non-titled bike can be done in Ca, it's not easy, but frankly I've done it once already. An 81 would sure be nice to add to the stable and it might be a good platform to turn into a sidecar rig and made Fred's day.

I would love to keep her together.
I gave 300 for her and have a new battery etc. So 350? I don't want to break her up though. I have lots of spare stuff to go too!

Should be easy to take care of the title in Nevada. Some of the title service companies I have seen title them in Nevada.

                no title

International Title Service is one company I found and they are in Nevada. Last year when I was thinking about getting a title for my 79special thats the cheapest company I found and when it was done you had plates for a year plus a clear title to take to your local DMV to register for only $150.

Ahh, so was it you that bought that one off of CL? I was watching one out there.
Anyways, to title it, I think you might have to get a signature from the last person it was titled to. Dunno for sure, but my neighbor and his SG are in the same boat right now and he claims now getting a title is not an option. No specification on exactly why.

                      Title

Every state has its own laws. Here in Georgia, I don't need no steenkin' title!

                        81 xs standard

The drivetime from Olympia washington to Reno is 13-15 hours it is probably 1 hour less comming out to my place. The title is problematic. I have the name of the last guy I got it from and also have the name of the last titled owner but that's all I have. Anyway I started to break her down to clean her up and it's all here right down to the guard bars for the bags as well as the frame for the front fairing.

Maybe I could register it there.

Yep that was me... I guess I shoulda slowed down a bit but I wanted her. I could strip her and part her out with the exception of the motor, which, by the way, has an external oil cooler.

So do I go to a title company instead of the DMV?
