    hey all --

was out of the loop for some time due to comcast server issues in my locale, but so glad to be able to get on the site again.

then my faulty eating and exercise habits of a lifetime caught up with me and went in for triple bypass/stinting on Jan 13th. Ended up staying for 12 days, which is not the norm; everything they did for me had to be custom due to my "unique" response to what are normally pretty routine procedures in a world class cardiac center. very lucky to be living in Olympia, Wa. when this problems arose; rock star surgeons and one of the top ten cardiac facilities in the country.

anyway, I won't be riding my new XS1100 kinda bobber, kinda cafe project for three months ... takes that long before the breast bone is securely healed etc.

in the meantime, I would like to know where to find pics of other members bikes to oggle (sp:?) for entertainment and inspiration.

    thanks for any assistance.

also, gratuitous geezer advice: to any of you younger folks; the damned cheeseburgers etc. simply aren't worth it! chew, chew, chew, low fat, no salt added. try to learn to see food as nourishment and use only the healthy stuff; it's not really entertainment and your bipedal machine will let you do the really worthwhile funstuff ... riding motorcycles, for instance, for a very long time if you just don't abuse early in life. exercise is also good! if you're not into the gym thing, walk, ride a bike, swim etc. life is a very beautiful thing and becomes more so as there's less of it in front of you to enjoy. don't cheat yourself. okay, enough.

    be well and happy trails
A fine running motor is a tune you just can't get out of your head.

If you do a search, there is a thread on bike pictures. I also have some pics from last years California ride on my web site, http://rjmatteis.com/motorcycle/ . Click on a thumbnail, and the picture will load and look correct. Just some of us from down this way!
PS I DO know about the facilities up there, my sister lives at exit 118 on I5. You may know the name of the town, as it's on the WEST side of the freeway.
Glad your back, and the weather should just be clearing in about three monthe up there!

I have found that being confined to a wheel chair and not having access to the fridge helps a lot too.

DuPont or Steilicoom? The first is named for the long-gone DuPont Explosives factory (where the employees used to 'fish' by dropping dynamite off the end of their dock! LOL!!), and the other is the oldest 'city' in the state if I remember right....

              chinrest,

If you go all the way to the top of the page, in the gray band above the XS11 banner, put your cursor on "MEMBERS".

A dropdown will appear that says "Members Photos".

Anyone who has posted photos will be there.

                  Next best thing?

Cross your eyes while keeping your sight level with the computer screen. Seeing as there are two pictures below side by side that look the same, ;the objective is for your left eye to be looking at the right picture, while your right eye is looking at the left picture. Your eyes may not be used to doing this, so what it will look like is three blurry pictures at first instead of two clear ones. Since these pictures are 3D, you will have to change your focus to something hypothetically closer. This will put the 3D picture in focus then everything else blurry.

Lock the 3D in on the first picture and scroll down the following thread:

DuPont... My sister bought the house there about 20 years ago, and rented it out when the Air Force moved them to South Dakota. I've been going up that direction most of my life, as my mom was raised in Everett.

thanks for all the responses, folks. took me a little while to get back. can't believe how time consuming taking care of yourself is, even with the wife's ever present help

I was a St. Pete's. Amazing level of nursing care. Felt like I was the only one there. Learned alot from those folks and am now well on my way to a healthy to return to normal living.
