Too bad that the Absinthe sold in the states isn't really true absinthe.

My wife smuggled some in from Poland a couple years ago and gave it to her brothers. No one hallucinated and no one was pushed off a cruise ship by three Russian guys.

Yep, it is. Wormwood and all. The local shop even has the spoon and the weird looking glass, that meters the absinthe to water ratio, and such.

I recently tried Absinthe (the US version). I even tried it more than one night and watered down. How can people like it? Seriously, it's awful nasty stuff.

I think this is the recipe for the US Absinthe:
-One bottle "Jag"
-One bottle Everclear
-One buttcrack and underwear from the nastiest cab driver you can find (the longer he hasn't showered for the better, no a/c in cab would be ideal)

Instructions:
1. Mix all liquids together
2. Slowly poor liquids down buttcrack of cab driver
3. Filter liquids through cab driver's underwear to remove any solid floaties from step #2.
4. Enjoy at 1/4 of the cost!


Back to the topic of beer. I like almost any microbrew beer. I do like Sam Adams for a commonly known beer. I will drink cheap stuff if I don't have other options but I have a hard time calling it beer (such as Bud, Bud Lite, Miller Lite, MGD, etc etc etc). After trying to drink Absinthe and having my taste buds fried out, I found the darkness of the beer I prefer has shot up ten fold, go figure.
